The W.A.S.P. Museum

Founded in Quartzsite, Arizona: Training Ground for those who aspired to be WASP!

Deciding Factors

The Panther is just one of thousands of antique aircraft throughout the United States -- but the only one owned by the W.A.S.P. Museum -- and it is one of only two museums currently underway to finally pay tribute to those women pioneers who sought to serve their country by becoming military pilots.

Quartzsite is one of the places women came to train to qualify to become W.A.S.P. [Women's Air Service Pilots]

If the Museum at Quartzsite were to have lost the Panther, it would have lost the cornerstone of it's museum. A huge financial investment was made in the Panther. Without the Panther or a replacement, the W.A.S.P. museum will suffer immeasurably -- and for no reason but that it happened to purchase a Navy plane without forewarning that the Navy policy [concerning the confiscation of all Navy military aviation equipment] even existed.

The Navy has dozens of museums and thousands of planes. Indeed, most of the planes for which it now battles museums and individuals were once willingly relinquished by Navy personnel with full knowledge of their actions.

If you have thoughts or ideas pertinent to the issue concerning the W.A.S.P. Museum's battle with the NAVY for the Panther, you can make your voice heard by contacting the Arizona representatives listed on this site -- as well as those of other 'interested' parties.

Here, we provide you with names, office addresses and phone numbers, as well as an e-mail address and a link to their official sites. Let them know you care!

We are thrilled that the Panther was returned to the museum at Quartzsite. And we appreciate the efforts of politicians who do what they were elected to do: Represent the interests of the citizens of the United States to the very best of their ability.
